Mary V. Thompson, 94 of Worcester, died Monday, January 2nd in Notre Dame Harmony Care Assisted Living. She is survived by her two nieces, Ann M. Sancus of Worcester and Mary Ahearn and her husband Richard, of West Brookfield; 2 grand nephews, Peter Kowalonek of Worcester and James Kowalonek and his wife, Lenore of Charlotte, NC; a grand-niece Nicole Woodworth of N. Brookfield; and great-grand-niece, Olivia and great-grand-nephew, Logan,
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Radikas) Thompson, and was a graduate of Salter Secretarial School. She had been employed as a secretary for New England Telephone and later Nynex for 42 years, retiring from there in 1985 at the age of 58. She then worked part time for Attorney Robert J. Donohue for thirteen years, finally retiring in 1998 Mary was a member of Christ the King Parish, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Lithuanian Club. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, travel and her appreciation of fine dining and wines.
Her funeral is Tuesday, January 10th with her funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. the day of the funeral in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
