Carol A. (Ferry) McColgan, age 86, of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Signature Healthcare – Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late James E. McColgan.
Born and raised in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Lovett) Ferry.
Carol resided in Brockton for the past 62 years. She worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance for many years before retiring.
Mrs. McColgan was a loving and caring person who was devoted to raising her family. Following her retirement, she loved to play bocce at the Bertocci Memorial Club in Brockton and enjoyed occasional trips to the casinos.
Carol was the mother of four children: Jeanne Pickering and her husband Joel of Middleboro, James E. McColgan and his wife Cheryl of Brockton, Edward P. McColgan and his wife Debra of Spring Hill, FL and the late Carol A. May. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Carol’s family on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00pm, at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 12:00 pm in the funeral home followed by interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
