DRISCOLL, James P., Jr. Of Dedham, January 1, 2023. Jim was born in Boston and attended Jamaica Plain High School, class of 1960. Shortly after graduation, Jim went to work for Bank of Boston as a computer technician. Jim worked at the bank for 40 years.
In 1968 Jim married Donna Gildea of Watertown. After a few years in Stoughton, Jim and Donna settled in Dedham to raise their three boys. Working hard at the bank, Jim was able to save some money and bought a house in Yarmouth. Jim, Donna, and the boys would spend most of their summers at the Cape House. Summer time included the beach, biking, wiffle ball, and the boys hanging out at the local youth center. After retiring from the bank, Jim moved to the Cape full time. Jim would now start his second career. He started his own landscape business. Along with cutting grass and raking leaves, Jim would build decks, install fencing, and pick up all the neighbors trash. Jim truly enjoyed helping others.
The Cape House was quite the gathering place in the summers. Jim loved having his boys and all their friends at the house. Those were crazy times! Jim’s house was open to all and no one was ever turned away. So the boys and their friends took full advantage of the Cape House. No matter how wild it got, everyone was always welcome back.
