Leonard "Lenny" Frank Jacintho, S, 79, of New Bedford, MA, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.
Lenny was born in New Bedford, MA, on July 15, 1943, to the late Elsie Jacintho (Souza) and Frank Jacintho. He spent his career as an Office Manager at various companies on the New Bedford waterfront. He retired from McLean's Seafood.
He was raised as an only child and always said he received his wish of having a large family. Lenny had a large hand in raising all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lenny's family is a direct reflection of the person he was.
He is survived by his wife Donna of fifty-nine years; his children Janet Rosenberg and her husband David of Dartmouth, Leonard Jacintho, Jr of New Bedford, Jennifer Driscoll of New Bedford; his grandchildren, Jason Jacintho of Westport, MA, Joshua Jacintho and his wife Kate of Hull, MA, Jillian Jacintho of Fairhaven MA, Meaghan Driscoll-Avilla and her husband Jacob of New Bedford, Molly Driscoll of New Bedford, Julia Rosenberg of Dartmouth, and Jordan Rosenberg of Dartmouth; and five great-grandchildren.
Lenny found great joy in many activities. He loved fishing with his boys and spending time close to the ocean. He loved watching sports but especially loved rooting for the Red Sox. Lenny relished all types of fresh seafood, his wife's world-famous orange sugar cookies, and especially her homemade apple pie.
Lenny's nature was that of a fighter, and he fought till the end.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elsie Jacintho (Souza) and Frank Jacintho.
Lenny’s Visiting hours will be on Tuesday January 3, 2023 from 4-7 P.M. His funeral will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. followed by a service at St Martins Church at Noon. Burial will follow at St Johns Cemetery
