Dolores M. Ballou, 85 of Nashua, NH died Friday December 30, 2022 at the Premier Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Nashua. Dolores was born in Woonsocket, RI on July 23, 1937, a daughter of the late Leon and Estelle Pepin. She had been a resident of Nashua and Hollis for most of her adult life.
Dolores graduated from St. Clare High School in 1955. She spent many years waitressing until earning her degree in Computer Science from Hesser College in 1985. She ultimately retired several years ago from Brookdales Farm in Hollis as office manager. Dolores and her husband Frank loved their travels both domestically and abroad visiting friends and family as much as possible. She loved some of life’s simpler pleasures such as sewing, gardening, feeding the birds and doting on her cat Missy.
She is survived by her three sons, Daniel R. Poirier and his wife Kathy of Nashua; Thomas M. Poirier of San Clemente, CA, and James M. Poirier of Ocala, FL; six grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Matthew, James Jr. and wife Dorothy, Stephen, and Daniel Poirier; one great-grandson, Jaxson Poirier; several step children, grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren; four siblings, Leon Pepin, Jr., John Pepin, Gertrude Sherwood, and Evelyn Pepin. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Ballou in 2017, her son, Arthur C. Poirier, III in 1975, and by her siblings, Joseph Pepin, Madeline Lovella and her sons father Arthur C. Poirier Jr.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday January 5, 2023 from 4:30 – 6:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Catholic prayer service will follow at 6:30pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua.
