LEICESTER: Santiago Garcia Fuentes,83, of Rawson St., Leicester, died peacefully at his home on Friday, Dec. 30th.
He leaves his daughter; Carmen Maria Garcia Gonzalez with whom he lived for the last 17 years, his sons; Santiago Garcia Gonzalez and Antonio Garcia Gonzalez of Puerto Rico, four brothers; Julio, Osvaldo, Daniel and Miguel Garcia all of Puerto Rico, 6 grandchildren; Destiny, Maryangelie, Judith Marie, Rose Marie, Maryanne, José Manuel, and many nieces, nephews and 3 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a sister; Clara Garcia.
He was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, the son of Julio Garcia and Maximina Fuentes. He later served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired accountant with Shering Del Caribe in Puerto Rico.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Jan 4th from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. to be celebrated in St. Peter's Church, 929 Main St., Worcester. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 1 p.m. in the MA. Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon. Calling hours at Morin Funeral Home are on Tuesday, Jan. 3rd from 5 to 7 p.m.
