Obituary






NORFOLK—Lawrence S. Nasuti Sr. 74, of Norfolk, a former longtime resident of Franklin, died Sunday May 28, 2006 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood following a long illness. He was the husband of Georgette R. (Mandeville) Nasuti.
Born in Franklin, January 1, 1932 a son of the late Sabatino and Mary (Mucciarone) Nasuti he lived in Franklin for most of his life before moving to Norfolk.
Educated in Franklin schools he first went to work for the Clark-Cutler McDermott Co. in Franklin and then he worked for the Aubuchon Hardware Company as a manager where he worked for 21 years.
Mr. Nasuti was a member of the United States Navy having served his country during the Korean Conflict he was stationed aboard the USS Intrepid and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Occupational Medal. He was honorably discharged in May of 1956.
He enjoyed music, playing the accordion , gardening, fishing and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1526 in Medway, and a 4th degree member of the Sacred Heart Council #1847 Knights of Columbus, a member of St. Mary’s Church and the American Association of Retired Persons.
In addition to his wife of 51 years he is survived by 2 sons Lawrence S. Nasuti Jr. of Wrentham and Steven A. Nasuti of Franklin, 2 daughters Donna M. Carletti of Shrewsbury and Darlene L. Lopez of Mansfield, 3 sisters Lucy Balcewicz of Pawtucket, Dora Sacchetine of Franklin and Louise Clifford of Cumberland.
Also surviving is a grandchild Nicole Lonergan and a great-grandchild Arianna Rose Lonergan.
He was the brother of the late Anthony Nasuti.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday June 1, at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home (www.franklinfuneral.com) 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass at 9AM at St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Calling hours are Wednesday May 31, from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
