Beverly J. Carlson, 70 of Worcester, passed away Thursday, December 29th at UMass Memorial Hospital – University Campus. She leaves a sister, Dorothy Carlson of Worcester; three nephews, Charles McElroy II, Steven McElroy and his wife, Kelly, and Richard McElroy and his husband, John; 5 grand nieces and nephews; 9 great grand nieces and nephews; and her dog, Baxter. She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine McElroy.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Alfred and Irene (Brierly) Carlson. Beverly graduated from St. Stephen’s High School and then graduated from Worcester City Hospital of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Worcester City Hospital and later worked as a school nurse for the Worcester school system until retirement. She enjoyed painting and traveling all throughout the United States as well as Europe. Her favorite trips were to Cape Cod with her sister, Dorothy. Beverly loved animals and having quality time with her friends and colleagues, especially getting dinner and spending lunch breaks together. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Parish.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Her calling hours are Wednesday, January 4th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home.
