SPENCER: Madeline R. (Aucoin) Vandale, 91, of Spencer, died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 28. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Richard L. Vandale, her sons; Richard P. Vandale and his wife Marcy of Holden and John D. Vandale and his wife Stephanie of Lexington, her daughters; Susan A. Lilly and her husband Kevin of Cotuit, MA., and Jeanne M. Lloyd and her husband Kenneth of Milton, MA., her sister; Janet Sansoucy of Worcester, eight grandchildren; Nicole, Zachary, Emily, Erin, Jonathan, Jared, Charlotte and Elise, and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a grandson; Justin Lloyd in 2017.
Madeline worked as an administrative assistant at UMASS Medical School in Worcester for several years. She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish where she served on the Parish Council, was a CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister and assisted with the Parish Food Pantry. She was an avid reader. Madeline, along with her husband Dick, wintered in Florida for many years. She was born in Spencer, the daughter of Ernest and Anita (Collette) Aucoin and graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, Class of 1949 and was class Valedictorian.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Funeral Mass at Noon in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Monday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the Mass.
