Obituary



Robert E. Lindsey (Bob), age 92, of Locust Grove, Virginia; formerly of Medway, Massachusetts passed into eternal peace on December 23, 2022, at home surrounded by family.
Born September 8, 1930, in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Rupert and Margaret Lindsey (Fritz). Bob graduated White Plains High School in New York and enlisted in the United States Navy as a submariner. He served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years as a Yeomen during the Korean War.
After leaving the Navy in 1955, Bob attended the Cambridge School of Radio, working briefly as a radio disc jockey before eventually settling on a long, successful career as a car salesman.
In 1967, Bob married the love of his life, Joan, and moved to Medway, MA.

Bob was an active member of the Medway community, as a life member of the American Legion; Chaplain, Vice Commander, and Commander of Post 367 American Legion in Medway; and as an active member of the Boy Scouts of America.
Bob is survived by his children, Gerry and his wife Linda of Medway, Massachusetts, Joan P. Smith and her husband Kevin of Tucson, Arizona, and Sharon M. Cooksey of Locust Grove, Virginia.
Bob is also survived by his grandchildren; Jennifer Lindsey, Matthew Lindsey, Brian Lindsey, Zachary Lindsey, and his wife Megan all of Medway, Shawn Lindsey and his wife Brittainy of Northbridge, Jackie Cooksey of Virginia, and great-granddaughter Abigail Lindsey.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Lindsey.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA. At 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to the Mayflower Council Memorial and Tribute Fund either online or mailed to : 83 Cedar St. Milford, MA 01757
