Robert E. Raynard (Ret BPD), age 91, of Easton, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully on December 26, 2022 at Copley at Stoughton. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Gallagher) Raynard. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Thomas and Hazel (Dunton) Raynard. Robert attended Brockton High School and graduated from Quincy Jr. College. For 32 years he was a Police Officer for the City of Brockton, retiring in 1995.
Robert was known as a kind and caring person who loved his family. He was also very generous with donations to various charities.
Robert enjoyed the outdoors and being with friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, archery, playing Boche, and spending time at the beach, especially Nantasket Beach. He was devoted to his dogs and was a member of the Beagle Brook Beagle Club in East Bridgewater as well as the Paskamansett Beagle Club in North Dartmouth.
Robert is survived by his children Thomas L. Raynard and his wife Karen of Easton and Maura A. Drew and her husband Jeff of Middleboro; grandchildren Zachary Raynard of Quincy, Matthew Drew of Middleboro and Rachel Drew of Middleboro; and a great grandson William. He was the brother of Eleanor Ramsdell and Roy Raynard and the late Warren Raynard, Ralph Raynard, Dorothy Mansbach and Jean Doherty.
Due to the ongoing issues with Covid and other recent health concerns, the family has reluctantly decided to hold private services for immediate family members only.
