M. Richard Wight beloved husband, loving father, Papa and Great Papa. Age 85 of East Bridgewater and Palm Coast, Fl passed away peacefully at home Wednesday December 28, 2022 with his loving wife by his side.
He worked for Procter and Gamble for 34 years in Quincy.
A graduate of Abington High School, Class of 1956. He was a 32nd degree Mason and past Master of Satucket Lodge, a member of Wampatuck Lodge and Fellowship Lodge AF and AM.
Beloved husband and best friend of Jessie (Doherty) Wight for 65 years. Loving father of Suzanne Welch and husband Edward, Richard Wight, Douglas Wight and wife Michelle, and Sheila Foster and husband Stephen. Loving and proud Papa of Rachel Burbine, Aaron Welch, Thomas Wight, Kyle Wight, Alicia Revilla, Andrew Wight, Stephen Wight, Stephen Foster, Amy Hatfield, Meghan Foster and Morgan Foster. Adoring great Papa of Ava Wight, Caleb Hession, Jack Wight, Natalie Wight, Benjamin Burbine, Madelyn Wight and Hudson Hatfield. Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Monday January 2 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and his funeral service on Tuesday January 3 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
Memorial donations may be made to Childrens Hospital, Boston, Shriners Hospital for Children, Boston, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
