Obituary

Thomas Andrew Mangino passed away on December 21, 2022, at the age of 91. After several months of declining health, Tom died peacefully at home.

Tom was born in Staten Island, NY to Costanzo and Michelina (Pasqualone) Mangino. He was the youngest of 5 children. He leaves his wife of 59 years, RoseMarie (Jamieson) Mangino, his children, Veronica and Daniel O’Brien of Haverhill, MA, Douglas and Alene Mangino of Woodridge, IL and Andrea and Terrance Terrones of Colorado Springs, CO. Grandchildren, Jennifer Mangino, Kelly and Timothy O’Brien, Connor and Grace Terrones and many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

After graduating Curtis High School in Staten Island, Tom worked on Wall Street and attended CCNY at night. In 1952 he was drafted into the Army and was a Corporal stationed at Fort Devens, Mass during the Korean war. He graduated from Wagner College in 1957 with a degree in Economics and went on to have a 30 year career at Chevron Corporation as a salesman. Tom met his wife, RoseMarie on a blind date in 1962 and they married in 1963. His job took him and his family from NJ, NY, MA and eventually to CT, where they raised their family and lived for over 40 years. He moved to Methuen, MA 5 years ago to be closer to family.

Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and was very generous with them. He loved driving, not only for work, he would drive anyone, anywhere, anytime. We joked when he wore his “cap” that he looked like a chauffeur, and he loved it! Tom also enjoyed “tinkering” with cars, after he asked how you were, his next question was, “how’s your car, does it need an oil change?”. In fact he was still performing his own oil changes up until the age of 87. He was an engaging, charismatic gentleman who lived life to the fullest. He will be sorely missed by all.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Methuen for their amazing care and kindness and all the loving supportive nurses and staff at AllCare Palliative and Hospice Services of Lynn, MA.

A celebration of life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
