Manchester- On Friday, December 23, 2022, Dennis Henry Olmstead passed away at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was seventy-five years old.
Born in Berlin, New Hampshire on July 27, 1947, Dennis was the oldest son of the late Louise Tetreault Olmstead and the late Thomas Henry Olmstead. He had one younger brother, Michael Olmstead and his wife Katie and two nephews, Timothy and Bradley Olmstead and his wife, Heidi.
He was predeceased by his wife Janet Beliveau and their son Eric Olmstead.
Dennis graduated from Manchester West High School.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Dennis was employed by the Manchester Highway Department.
He spent most of his life living in Allenstown, NH. Dennis also had a cottage in Hampton Beach that he loved to reminisce about.
For the past ten years, he had been living at the Manchester VA Community Living Center where he was known by almost everyone that worked there as a fun and friendly man.
Bowling, bingo, watering the plants, being outside and going to Mass with Father Tom were among his favorite things to do at the CLC besides eating homemade Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookies and drinking his favorite Raspberry Royale Tea.
Dennis will be interred at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen in a private ceremony.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Manchester VA Community Living Center for their caring and compassion to Dennis throughout the years.
