John L. Lynch, 94, of Westport, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Providence V.A. Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Fitzpatrick) Lynch, they shared 60 years of marriage.
Mr. Lynch was born in Framingham, son of the late T. Joseph Lynch and the late Agnes B. (Bilodeau) Lynch and had been a longtime resident of Westport. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He had worked as a machinist for Carlings Brewery in Natick and prior to retirement, worked at Crown, Cork and Seal now known as Crown Holdings. He loved to golf and was a member of the Whaling City Golf Course, New Bedford. He enjoyed boating, fishing and playing pool at the Westport Council on Aging.
Survivors include his 2 sons: Stephen E. Lynch and his partner Alice of CA and Michael J. Lynch and his wife Catherine of Westport; his daughter: Janice M. Urato and her husband Jay of VT; a brother: Martin Lynch and his wife Evelyn of Middleton, RI; 4 grandchildren: Kelly E. Lynch, Eric M. Lynch, Rachel J. Carroll and her husband Chris, Brian J. Urato and his wife Erin; 3 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Francis Lynch, Donald Lynch, Connie Lynch, Gwen Knapp and Rita Knapp.
A memorial mass will be announced at a later date.
