Tome Gorgievski, 73, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving children after a sudden illness.
Tome was born in Bitola, North Macedonia (former Yugoslavia) on December 26, 1948, the son of the late Jovan and Jelena (Culeva) Gorgievski. He grew up in Macedonia and arrived in the United States at the age of 20 and lived here ever since.
Tome is survived by his three children, Nicholas Gorgievski and his wife, Patricia, Michael Gorgievski, and Elizabeth McCarthy and her husband, Ryan. He is also survived by his brother, Blagoj Gorgievski, brother-in-law, Mladen Gjakovski, brother-in law Zdravko Djordjevic and wife, Rebecca, and brother-in-law, Jovan Kostantinov. He also leaves five nieces and nephews, Sonja (Gjakovski) Pisarczyk and her husband, James, Jovan Gorgievski, Robert Djordjevic and his wife, Reine, Stefan Djordjevic, and Peter Kostantinov and wife, Andreina; six grandchildren, Kate and Mia Gorgievski, Brayden Gorgievski, Bradley, Molly and John McCarthy, and many cousins.
His beloved wife, of 38 years, Divna (Djordjevic) Gorgievski predeceased him in January 2012, his sister, Jelica (Gorgievski) Gjakovski predeceased him in April 1997 and his brother, Mike Gorgievski predeceased him in September 2021.
After he arrived in the United States, he applied his trade school expertise by working at Table Talk Pies for many years. He also worked for many other bakeries in the area, including Wonder Bread and Rich’s Corporation. He enjoyed taking casino trips, watching soccer, traveling to Macedonia, and spending time with family and friends.
He lived life to the fullest and touched many lives with his generous heart. He will be missed dearly.
His funeral is Friday, December 30th with a service at 10:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by burial in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, December 29th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
