Mary R. Cedrone, 94

Mary R. (Bazzinotti) Cedrone, age 94, of Mansfield, formerly of Roslindale, passed away peacefully, in the presence of her loving family, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmelo T. Cedrone, to whom she was wed for fifty-nine years at the time of his death in 2008. Mr. and Mrs. Cedrone were wed on January 22, 1949.
Born in Boston, MA on December 31, 1927, she was a loving daughter of the late Ernesto and Maria (Zambernardi) Bazzinotti.
Mary spent her early childhood living in South Boston. At the age of seven her family moved to the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston, where she graduated from Roslindale High School and remained a Roslindale resident till 1990.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mary also worked as an auditor for insurance companies in Boston after graduating from high school. She had made her home in Mansfield for the past ten years and previously resided in Florida for twenty years, following her late husband’s retirement.
Mary was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and was actively involved as a member of the Mansfield Council on Aging. Her greatest gift in life was her cherished family and she was always happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary loved times spent at Carson Beach in South Boston and later on beautiful Cape Cod. Her hobbies included playing bocce with her late husband, bingo, trivia games and while a resident at the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield, was known as a jeopardy champion. Along with her husband, she was an avid New England Patriots fan and longtime season ticket holders. Mary will always be remembered for her kind personality and will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her devoted children: Gerard T. Cedrone and his wife Ann of Plainville, Mary R. Joyce and her husband John of Mansfield, Anthony C. Cedrone and his wife Teresa of Ashburn, Virginia and the late Ernest Cedrone. She was the treasured grandmother of Gerard, Jr., Matthew, Jennifer, Lorri, Danielle, Carolyn, Sofia, Isabella, Grant and the great grandmother of Charlie, Colby, Jack, Max, Valentina and Giovanni. She was the dear sister of the late Valentina Braccia, John Bazzinotti, Frank Bazzinotti and Augustine Bazzinotti. She was the loving daughter-in-law of the late Bonafizio and Angelina (Cocuzzo) Cedrone and also leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated on Friday, December 30th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be held privately at a later date at Saint Michael’s Cemetery in Roslindale.
Visiting hours will be held prior to the services on Friday morning from 8:30-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
