Patricia A. McNamara, 83, of Worcester, passed away Friday, December 16 th at Christopher House of Worcester after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves a sister-in-law, Rosanna McNamara of Worcester formerly of Millbury; and was predeceased by five brothers, Robert, Cornelius, John, Thomas and Philip McNamara; and three sisters, Agnes Tivnan, Eleanor Kuzmickas, and Mary McNamara.
Pat was born in Millville to the late John A. and Elizabeth (Quinn) McNamara, attended Worcester public schools and worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for Worcester County in Extension Services. Pat’s great loves were family, travel and spending time with friends. Whether traveling with her dear friend, Phyllis Dixon, playing cards with companions, or experiencing the “highs and lows” of following all of her beloved New England sports teams Pat truly appreciated the time she spent with others. She embraced her family and her faith and was beloved “Aunt Pat” to over twenty nieces and nephews as well as many grand-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nancy Tivnan, wife of Pat’s nephew, Kevin Tivnan, played a particularly special role throughout her last several years, making sure she was well cared for and providing a close friendship that brought Pat great joy and contentment.
Pat’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Christopher House of Worcester for their kindness and care throughout her final days.
Her funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Catholic Mass and celebration of life will be held later this spring. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
