Ronald P. Richard, 80, of Worcester passed away, December 17, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife Linda who passed away in December 2020. He is survived by two sons: Jeremy Richard and his wife, Marlo of Paxton and Jonathan Richard of Worcester; his daughter Courtney Kirschner and her husband, Gregory of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Cameron, Ellie and Fiona; his sister Dora Beaudin of Worcester; his brother Gerald Richard of Seminole, FL. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Arthur Richard and Ozelie (Maillet) Richard. Ron was the youngest of six children and grew up in the main south area of Worcester. Ron and Linda were married on May 3, 1969 and celebrated over fifty years of marriage. They shared a lifetime of love with each other and all who knew them.
Ron worked for years in the burgeoning computer industry in the 80’s and 90’s and held various roles from electronics technician through to company President. Ron was a patriot and proud U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed anything that had to do with government and politics. He worked tirelessly and loved his time as warden of one of the voting precincts in Worcester. Ron was always ready with an anecdote, conversation, or joke in any situation. He was a jack of all trades and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be remembered as a loving husband, caring father, a beloved Papa, and as someone who could always make you laugh.
The family would like to thank the staff at UMass Memorial, specifically the Heart and Vascular Center and the Cardiac ICU. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Ron can be made to UMass Memorial in support of the either of these departments.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
