Lauren M. (McGoff) Buckley, a resident of Charlestown and formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully with her loving husband, family, and friends at her side on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her home in Charlestown following a courageous battle with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She was 32 years of age.
Lauren was born in Melrose on January 5, 1990, a daughter of Kevin McGoff and Lisa (Allen) McGoff. She grew up in Medford where she was educated in the Medford Public School System and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Brighton. She received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance from Pace University in Manhattan, graduating in 2012. She worked as a mortgage lender for Berkshire Bank, and was a former longtime employee at Residential Mortgage Services(RMS) and for Fidelity Investments on Wall Street.
Lauren was a very loyal, sweet, and caring person who was selfless and excelled at making others feel special. She was very thoughtful which allowed her to be a great gift giver. She held herself to high standards and greatly cared about quality. She had an incredible work ethic which she kept even while she was going through her cancer treatments. She loved organizing and hosting parties. Two of her passions were decorating and interior design, skills of which she was second to none. Lauren loved traveling in general but especially to Italy and parts of Europe. York Beach, ME held a special place in Lauren’s heart, it was a place where she could go to relax and clear her mind. She had an unbreakable wit and sense of humor that she held on to until the very end.
Lauren is the beloved wife of 7 years and high school sweetheart of Boston Firefighter Matthew A. Buckley. She is the devoted mother of Benjamin Buckley. She is the loving daughter of Kevin McGoff and Lisa (Allen) McGoff. She is the beloved sibling of Aidan and Mikayla “Mick” McGoff. She is the daughter-in-law of Timothy Buckley and Alice and Paul Hanley, and sister-in-law of Jill and Geury Francisco. She is also survived by her dog Buddy and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins especially MaryKate, Meaghan, and Rachel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lauren's funeral on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 10:45 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 12Noon in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her burial will be private. Her visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
