Dudley - Jean Annis, 76, passed away after a brief illness Monday, December 12,2022 at Southbridge Rehabilitation & Health Care Center where she resided since 2020. She was a long-time resident of Dudley.
Jean was born January 22,1946 in Portsmouth, NH the daughter of the late Hollis & Lillian (Fieldsend) Davis.
She is survived by her 2 children, Richard Annis Jr and wife Lynn and Caryn Pierce and husband Ron, her 6 grandchildren, Zakk, Zoey, Zayne, Jared, Kendra, Taylor; two sisters Janet Davis of Portsmouth, NH and Judy Redden and husband Ben of North Hampton, NH; a brother Clarence Davis and wife Charlene of Portsmouth, NH; a sister in law, Helen Fieldsend; a brother in law, Edward Cosway Jr. and wife Debra and her many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Richard Annis Sr (Aug 2009) and brother, Henry Fieldsend (2022)
She was a graduate of Exeter High School in 1965 and worked her first job at Exeter Shoe Factory, Kings Department Store and Booth Fishery followed by many years at Data General in Westboro and Commerce Insurance in Webster.
Wife of a Navy Man, they lived on many Naval Bases in VA, NH, CT and Cuba until he retired and they resided in Sutton Ma for many years.
Her family will hold dear many visits to New Hampshire, long days out on the boat, playing canasta and her many hobbies such as sewing, basket weaving, knitting and crocheting as well as the great love she had for her dogs which were always a part of her family.
Family will hold a private graveside service at a later date in Greenland Cemetery - Greenland, NH with reception to follow.
