Angela Tucker McElmurray, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Chris Ramsey officiating and Chad McElmurray delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Luke Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. McElmurray, known as “Shug” to close family and friends, was born November 6, 1962, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Talmadge & Julia Katherine Tucker. She was a 1982 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, attended Valdosta State University and received her associates degree in nursing from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Mrs. McElmurray was very passionate about her nursing career in pediatrics and working with hospice. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ike McElmurray of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Amber Lauren Griffin & Wes of Fitzgerald; a son, James Chadwick McElmurray & Malaurie of St. Mary’s; grandchildren: Emmaline Katherine Griffin, Jett Jameson Griffin and Annsley Lauren McElmurray, born on Tuesday, December 13, 2022; three sisters: Paulette Eastman, Denise McDonald & Timmy and Melissa Massey & Chris, all of Fitzgerald and a brother, Julian Tucker & Ollie of Fitzgerald.
