Betty Hall Gauthreaux, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at PruittHealth in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, December 16, 2022, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Steve Hand officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gauthreaux was born April 16, 1937, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Joseph Owens and Minnie Griffin Pierce. She was a homemaker and retired from the Ben Hill County School System Food Services. Mrs. Gauthreaux was a longtime active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Debbie Brown and Ronnie & Cindy Hall, all of Fitzgerald; step-children: Jerome Gautreaux and Doug Gautreaux; grandchildren: Terri Brown & Chris Webster, Brad Brown & Courtney Tomlinson, Linsey Barnes & Joe Durham and Dru & Michael Purvis; great-grandchildren: Chris Brown, Laken Tabor, Hall Webster, Ela Grace Ash, Eli Ash, Chloe Moore, Caden Purvis and Henry Purvis; and a sister, Peggy Stegall of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Sidney Hall, her second husband, Norman Gauthreaux; a son-in-law, Marian “Mack” Brown; six siblings and a step-daughter, Denise Ridings
