Robert J. Kelley
Retired Hostess Supervisor & Marine Corps Veteran
TEWKSBURY: Robert J. Kelley, age 84, a resident of Tewksbury for 52 years, formally of North Reading, passed away at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Friday, December 9, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Blackler) Kelley with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on June 10, 2022.
Born in Boston on June 14, 1938, he was the son of the late James J. Kelley and the late Jeanette (Czveck) Kelley.
He was raised in West Roxbury and graduated from Boston Trade High School.
In 1956, he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. Prior to his honorable discharge in 1958, he was awarded the rank of Sergeant.
Bob worked as a supervisor for the Hostess Company in Malden for 36 years until his retirement.
He was a longtime member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Post # 2070.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling to Aruba.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Scott R. Kelley and his wife Darlene, Wayne M. Kelley and his wife Monique, and James J. Kelley and his wife Jennifer: six grandchildren, Dustin, Ryan, Matthew, Jacqueline, Jake and Max. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Calling hours are Sunday, Dec. 18th, from 1-5 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin Monday, Dec. 19th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
