Annette Marie (Picard) Ford, RN, 93, wife of the late Samuel “Ben” Ford, passed away into the loving arms of God on December 11, 2022 at home with her family by her side. An honor graduate of Jesus Mary Academy in 1947, she graduated from St. Anne’s School of Nursing in 1950.As a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, she chose a profession where she was able to serve others in a personal and caring way. Her amazing capacity to love her family was the most meaningful aspect of her life. She was a real estate broker, member of many glee clubs, a pianist, Boy Scout leader, lifelong Red Sox fan and, devoted parishioner at St. George’s Church. She loved the ocean, clam boils, reading, but most of all was attending her children’s and grandchildren’s baseball, basketball, football, and soccer games. Her one wish for her family was that we all be happy. Thank you, Mom!
Annette is survived by two daughters, Peggy Amaral of Westport; and Cathy and her husband David Lane of East Bridgewater; five sons, Jim and his wife Nanette of St. Louis MO; David and his wife, Patricia of Tuftonboro, NH; Frank and his wife Sandi of Westport; Michael of Mattapoisett; and John and his wife Nicole of South Kingston, RI; twelve grandchildren, Aaron, Amy , Melissa, Katie, David Conor, Meeghan, Pat, Nate, Zachary, Erica, Eli and Arden; five great-grandchildren Eliza, Parker, Oliver, Sam and Sawyer. She is survived by four siblings, Atty. Raymond V. Picard, Sister Therese J. Picard, RJM, Marie R. (DeSormier) Brogan, and Marguerite C. Picard.
Annette was the sister of the late Rev. Mr. Adrian D. Picard, Martha A. Ratcliffe and Louise T. Roy and the daughter of the late Adrian and Beatrice (Ducharme) Picard.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, December 16, 2022 from the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport, MA 02790 at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 P.M.
Interment will be private.
