Kevin A. "GOV" Dever, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 80 years of age.
Gov was born in Boston on May 12, 1942, a son of the late Patrick and Nora Dever. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. Gov worked as a Printer at Financial Publishing Company in Boston and retired following over 40 years of dedicated employment. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with the boys and visiting the casinos and playing blackjack. Above all else in Gov's life was his family who he cherished immensely, and he enjoyed all the quality moments he was able to spend with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Gov is the beloved husband of the late Barbara A. (Campbell) Dever. He is the devoted father of Patrick W. Dever and his wife Cindy, Stacey Adrien and her husband Paul and the late Kelly A. Torrejon and her surviving husband Marcus. He is the loving Grandfather to Meghan Dever, Cooper Adrien, Caden Adrien and his great-grandchildren Aubrie and Alex. He is the beloved brother of the late John Dever and Charles Dever.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gov's Funeral on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. His visiting hours will be on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
