Allen George Spencer of Ojai, California, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on December 7, 2022.
Allen was born on August 30, 1929 in Bottineau, North Dakota, he was the eldest son of Archie & Georgia Spencer. He attended Maxbass High School &, in 1946, joined the United States Marine Corps where he honorably served as a rifleman. Upon his discharge, he returned to North Dakota where he worked for a local farmer until becoming employed by Minot Woodworks Company.
In 1953, Allen married Marlene Lambert, also from Maxbass, North Dakota, and they were blessed with 4 beautiful children. In 1960, Allen and Marlene moved to Ojai, California where he began a lengthy career in construction. Serving through various Unions gave him the opportunity to work on several projects such as, the Thousand Oaks Mall, LAX parking structures, & other major projects. Allen retired in 1996 with the soft opening of the New Getty Center, a job he considered, with pride, to be his most challenging project. Allen spent his retirement crafting wood furniture, toys, & yard ornaments. He was very involved with his Church, enjoyed bowling & attending his grandson Cameron’s baseball & football games.
