Robert E. Theroux, 80, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, December 8, 2022 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Lorraine H. (Bastille) Theroux, his devoted wife of 60 years.
Mr. Theroux was born in Taunton, son of the late Eugene D. and Annette (Brouillard) Theroux and grew up in Fall River before moving to Westport in1969. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. Prior to his retirement in 2004, he worked as a machinist for Louis Hand, Inc. of Fall River and had also worked at Robertson's Factory of Taunton as a sewing machine mechanic of A.A. Sewing Machine Co., Fall River. He coached little league baseball and hockey and was an avid gardener and Red Sox fan.
Survivors along with his wife include his son: Stephen C. Theroux and his wife Karen of Nantucket; his 2 daughters: Carol A. Theroux of SC and Tami A. Teixeira of Little Compton; his brother: Paul R. Theroux of Lancaster, NH; 8 grandchildren: Jamie, Katy, Kristen, Evan, Brenna, Morgan, Kasandra and Talazia; 2 great granddaughters: Eira and Paisley; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Michelle A. Silvia and brother of the late Sister Carol Anne Theroux, RSM.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Our lady of Grace Church, Westport at 11:30 A.M.
Visitation will be Tuesday, at the Potter Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 A.M., prior to the Mass.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
