STANDISH- William (Bill)Tomlinson age 86 passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on December 2,2022. He was born on October 18, 1936, in Cambridge, NY to the late William H Tomlinson and Alice (Touey) Tomlinson. After graduating from Greenwich H.S., he served four years in the Air Force. After an honorable discharge, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree in business from State University of NY. After graduation, he went to work for Crawford &Company in New York City as a claims adjuster where he met his wife Lynda. After several years, he was promoted to a supervisor and moved to Albany, NY. He was promoted again to become a manager in both Pittsfield, MA and Portland, ME. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid reader. After retiring he and his wife spent 20 years wintering in North Fort Myers, FL. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Lynda (Pettigrew) Tomlinson, a son Jeffrey W Tomlinson and his wife Alaina Tomlinson and a stepson Calvin Balch, his sister Helen (Tomlinson) McCormick Scotia, NY, his brother and sister-in-law John Pettigrew and his wife Linda (Wyman) Pettigrew Warwick, RI and many nieces and nephews. The family will have a celebration of life in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your local Alzheimer's Assn.
