Thomas E. Herbert of Canton, formerly of S. Boston passed away December 8th. Born and raised in S. Boston he graduated from S. Boston High School and served for over 40 years in the Army National Guard as the First Sergeant of Company D 114th Medical Battalion. Tom worked as a Welder for many years for General Electric before retiring. He has lived in Canton for the last 12 years and was a member of the American Legion and Amvets in Stoughton and the DAV in Randolph.
Father of Ronald Herbert of IL, Kelly Vigneault of Tyngsboro, Kim Bedard of Hyde Park, and Keri Mantie of Canton. Also survived by 9 grandchildren. Tom was predeceased by his 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church Canton Monday morning at 10:30. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday morning prior to the mass from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Burial private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Amvets 1575 Central St. Stoughton, MA 02072.
