Ilda (Pavao-Rodrigues) Benevides, 96, of New Bedford died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at CareOne at New Bedford.
She was the wife of the late Manuel Benevides and Jorge DeOliveira.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel and Maria L. (Pavao) Rodrigues, she lived in New Bedford since 1960.
She enjoyed knitting and farming.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Pauline Whitford and her husband David of Brockton and Terese Botelho of Assonet; a son, Luiz DeOliveira of New Bedford;a brother, Manuel Pavao of Azores; 2 sisters, Maria Angel of Azores and Gloria of Brazil; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a great-great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Libaina "Libby" Miller and grandmother of the late Kyle DeOliveira and Walter Botelho.
Her visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 12th from 4-8 PM in the from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 13th at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery.
