Robert V. Daw, 79, of Holden died Monday, December 5th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Sheila C. (Murphy) Daw; a daughter, Maureen Daly of Holden; a grandson, Eamon Daly; a sister-in-law, Mary Riordan of Old Orchard Beach, ME; nieces, nephews, and countless friends including the members of the Quinapoxet Model Flying Club. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Gavin Daly.
He was born in Worcester the son of the late Robert and Lydia L. (Champagne) Daw. Robert graduated from South High School and attended the former Worcester Junior College. Mr. Daw, retired in 2004 from Sweet Life / Super Value after working in the grocery warehouse for many years. He previously was the manager of National Glass Works. Robert was a member of the Quinapoxet Model Flying Club where he also sat on the Board of Directors. He was a family man who always displayed great strength. Robert enjoyed spending time at Hampton Beach, Indian Lake, building Model Trucks and RC Boats. He was known for his elaborate Christmas lights and his trips to Dunkin Donuts. Most of all, Robert enjoyed the time he spent with his grandson, Eamon.
His visitation is Monday, December 12th from 10:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a brief service at 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester.
