Charles E. Sturtevant, age 63, of Hanson, MA, died on Saturday, December 3, 2022. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Teresa F. (Brunetti) Sturtevant, his son Ren and his fiancé, Krsna Shukla, his brother, James M. Sturtevant and his wife Diane of AZ, all of the extended Brunetti family, many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, David and Linda Andrews of Hanson, MA.
Born in Stoughton, Ma, he grew up in Brockton, MA and moved to Hanson, MA where he lived with his family. He is the son of the late Ralph A. and Dorothy P. (Morton) Sturtevant.
Charlie graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1977, attended Massasoit Community College and then graduated from Bridgewater State University, earning bachelor’s degrees in both Mathematics and English.
He enjoyed cooking, only the most difficult jigsaw puzzles, traveling and everything Sci-Fi.
In 1976, Charlie began a very successful career as a computer programmer while still a student at Brockton High School. He worked at Brockton High School and Brief Originals in Brockton. Charlie eventually learned every computer language as they were developed and could create code in each one. He also created four of his own computer languages for personal projects.
Prior to his passing, Charlie worked remotely at Symetra, in WA, in the life insurance division as Director Information Technology. He created a bond with his co-workers of tremendous love and respect.
Charlie was brilliant, patient, fun-loving, kind, and generous to a fault. He will be missed tremendously by everyone he knew.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Charlie’s family on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 11:00 am, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
