CHICOPEE – Linda A. (Morrissette) Dugre, 71, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, December 4, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on September 21, 1951, a beloved daughter of the late Lionel A. and Marcelle (St. Cyr) Morrissette. She was raised in Granby, graduated from Granby High School and had lived in the Willimansett section of Chicopee before moving to Fairview in 1978. She furthered her education and had graduated from the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Boston and received a Certified Registered Nursing Degree. She was employed for many years as a Certified Registered Nurse and had worked at the former Springfield Hospital and Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She later worked at the Willimansett Center East and West Nursing Homes in Chicopee, the former Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home in West Springfield and the Heritage Hall Nursing Homes in Agawam. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and currently was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in the Aldenville section of Chicopee. She was a member of the National Nursing Association and served her community as a longtime volunteer. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who loved spending time with her family and her many friends and colleagues. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Gerald J. Dugre. They were married on October 5, 1974 at Saint Theresa of Lisieux Church in South Hadley and were blessed with over 48 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving sons, Christopher G. Dugre and his wife, Sarah, of Suffield, CT, Thomas G. Dugre and his wife, Jennifer, of Windsor, CT and Brian L. Dugre and his wife, Emily, of Nashville, TN; her six cherished grandchildren, Ava Grace and Olivia Charlotte Dugre, Ella Marcelle and Cole James “CJ” Dugre and Everett George and Hailey Ann Dugre; her five dear siblings, Raymond Morrissette and his wife, Carol, of Granby, Roger Morrissette and his wife, Valenda, of Nashua, NH, Theresa Boissonnault and her husband, Ronald, of South Hadley, Veronica Mutti and her husband, Alfred, of Springfield, and Paul Morrissette and his wife, Marta, of Granby; her two dear sisters in law, Barbara Morrissette of Belchertown and Doris Desilets and her husband, Roger, of Chicopee; her beloved aunt, Fern Longo of East Longmeadow; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Dugre and Morrissette families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Arthur Morrissette. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to her Mass. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
