Phyllis (Yesonis) Vanderstreet, 97, of Humarock, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully on Friday, December 2nd. She was the wife of Louis Charles Vanderstreet, Jr. for 57 years.
Phyllis was born on January 5, 1925, the daughter of Alexander and Pauline (Skendulits) Yesonis. She was raised and educated in Brockton. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1943 and was an avid athlete in basketball and softball.
Phyllis spent her early working days in Boston and ended her career as the Executive Secretary to the President of Southeastern Construction for many years. She was very active on the Brockton Housing Authority and with the Wives of the Submarine Veterans Organization. She loved spending time with her family and enjoying precious moments with her great grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her son Louis Charles “Chuck” Vanderstreet, his wife Linda, grandsons Jason (Aileen) and Ryan (Kathleen) great grandchildren Alexandra, Tyler, Taylor and Kiley, sister-in-law Sue Vanderstreet and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, December 6th from 4-7 PM at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes on Wednesday December 7th at 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
