Sharron June Kaiko, 83, of Bozrah died Monday, November 28, 2022 in the loving home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born on June 8, 1939, in Bath, Maine, the eldest daughter of Harold and Rebecca (Batchelder) Ferguson. She is survived by her sister and best-friend Karon Nichols of Mystic and her brother Nourse (Buster) Ferguson and his wife Susan of Groton.
A lifelong resident of Southeastern Connecticut, Sharron graduated from New London High School in 1937. She married Phil A. Kaiko in 1959 and together they raised four children: Cheryl (Kaiko) Stockford, Phil A. Kaiko Jr., Wendy (Kaiko) Mitchell and Linda (Kaiko) Weiner.
Sharron took great pride in her family, home, baking, gardening and her thirty-five year career as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Groton Public School system. She especially enjoyed time spent with friends and her family.
Sharron was lifelong friends with her sister-in-laws Phyllis (Gorra) and Jan (Ellis) who survive her. She is also survived by her siblings; children, their spouses: Michael Stockford, Jayne Kaiko, James Mitchell and Robert Weiner; grandchildren: Katelyn, Christy and David (Stockford), Sophie, Natalie and Isabelle (Kaiko), Adam and Bryn (Montoya), and Patrick Mitchell; a great-grandson, Rivers Montoya; nieces and nephews, Keliann (Eckert), Ray (Muscarella), Vickie (Strickland), Richard and William (Ferguson), Becky (Maglionico) and her compassionate caregiver Charlene Daguilar.
She is predeceased by two nephews and two nieces.
Her family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 7, from 5 to 7pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A church service will be held Thursday, December 8, 11:00 a.m. at Leffingwell Baptist Church, 388 Salem Turnpike , Bozrah, CT.
