Jane Nyhan Kelly, 88, of Dedham, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2022. Born in Boston MA, Jane was the daughter of the late Agnes (Loughran) and John Nyhan and the beloved wife of the late Leo Kelly. A graduate of Holy Cross Academy in Brookline, MA, Jane received a Bachelor’s Degree from Regis College in Weston MA and a Master’s Degree from Emmanuel College in Boston MA. Jane was certified in early childhood education and developed curricula for and tutored learning disabled children before working as an Ombudsman for the Statewide Head Injury Program and Massachusetts Elder Services. Jane was active in the Medfield League of Women Voters, the Massachusetts State House Doric Dames, and the Medfield Democratic Town Committee. Loving sister of Mimi Deignan and devoted mother of Amy (Butch), Faith (Gordon), David, and Andrew (Fernanda). Adoring grandmother of John, Kate (Noah), and Caroline O’Dowd, Hugh and Lily Smith, and proud great-grandmother of Maeve and Ira Kaitin. She is also survived by many family and life-long friends. Funeral Mass to be held 9:00 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Saint Susanna Church, 262 Needham St, Dedham, MA. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jane’s name can be made to Saint Susanna Church.
