Anthony “Moe” Aiello, age 85, of Andover passed away on Sunday, November 27th. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Bellitti) Aiello. Moe settled in Medford in 1986, and was employed for many years at Tufts University. He and his wife moved to Andover two years ago.
Moe loved baseball and watching all sports, as well as scratch tickets. He enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City with his wife and friends from the Arlington Men’s Club, but favorite of all was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Moe was the beloved husband of Theresa (Vivolo) Aiello; they were together since the age of 16 and got married on Valentine’s Day. He was the devoted father of Maria Antonelli and her husband William of Andover, and Maryann Surette and her husband David of Woburn. Moe was the loving grandfather of Candice Burnett and her husband Todd, Elisa Camrell and her companion Marc Russo, Brendan Surette and Anthony Surette. He was the loving great grandfather of Ava and Malcolm Burnett, and dear brother of Pauline Petrillo and her late husband Butch, the late Sam Aiello and his late wife Spinney, the late Rose Scolastico and her late husband Tony, and the late Anna Birkmeir. Moe is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, December 2nd at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family from 9 through 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
