Claudine Lewis of Roxbury passed away on November 28, 2022. Claudine was born in Washington D.C.
on April 21, 1940 to the late Edward and Jessie Lewis.
Claudine attended school in Brentwood, Maryland, and she migrated to Boston to be with family where she was employed with the VA hospital in Jamaica Plain for 8 years as well as being employed at the post office in South Boston.
Claudine married to the late Eston Lee Carter where they raised a loving blended family.
She was small in stature however she was a powerful woman one that loved with all her heart at the same time those who knew her and loved her knew to walk lightly.
There wasn't a situation in her life and the life of her family that she didn't conquuer. She loved to shop, and got up early on Saturday's and would spend all day going from store to store.
Devoted mother of Ervonn Carter and his wife Crystal Bannister-Carter, and Carlos Carter and his wife Michelle Carter, Tony, Wayne and Yvette Carter and the late Ronald Lewis and Gregory Carter. Also survived by nine grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Sister of Darell Lewis and the late Edward Lewis.
Claudine's family will receive visitors on Wednesday December 7th, from 9-10AM, followed by a funeral service in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale. Pastor Grady Higginbottom, Pastor Michelle Higginbottom and Minister Lisa Maloney officiated.
Burial will take place in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Roslindale.
