SPENCER___Mary-Ellen (Kalinowski) Lindquist, 64, of Spencer, MA passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA.
Mary-Ellen is survived by her children, Steven W. Lindquist and his wife, Caitlin Lindquist of Hopkinton; John P. Lindquist of Quincy, and Kara A. Lindquist Lowen and her husband, Gregory Lowen of Worcester; her former husband, William E. Lindquist of Paxton; grandchildren, Ciara, Ian, and Briana; her brothers and sister, Michael A. Kalinowski of Brewster, Jo-Ann M. Smith of Encinitas, CA, and Thomas F. Kalinowski of Westborough and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary-Ellen was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Therese M. (Kiewra) Kalinowski.
Mary-Ellen was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and earned her nursing degree from Marquette University. She devoted 37 years working as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
An avid Boston sports fan, Mary-Ellen loved baseball, coaching her son’s Paxton Little League and Babe Ruth teams and later umpiring across central Massachusetts. She enjoyed fishing and gardening at her home on Cranberry Meadow Pond and took delight in hosting holidays for family and friends, who meant the world to her. Mary-Ellen loved animals: she was especially fond of Shih-Tzu dogs, freshwater aquarium fish, and backyard birds. She will be greatly missed by her puppy, Honey.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 through HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
