Ruth M. Childs (Given)
Of Taunton, MA died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Dr. Ruth McClaine Hospice Home in Braintree at the age of 90. Born in Taunton, Ruth was the daughter of the late Herbert and Georgina (Ventura) Given. She was a graduate of Taunton High School and enjoyed embroidery, walking, gardening and especially spending time with her family and friends. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Childs. Loving mother of Brett Childs and his wife Renata of Bourne, MA. Brad Childs and his wife Sandra of Attleboro, MA and Lorna Dwyer and her husband Stephen of Plymouth, MA. Loving grandmother to Michael, Christopher, Cameron, Kaitlynn, Jack, Colin and Great Grandmother to Aubrey, Carter, Chloe and many nieces and nephews. Dear sister to Helen Sylvia, Mary St. Germaine and the late William Given.
At Ruth’s request there will be a small private service for family members only at the National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the The Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice Home (oldcolonyhospice.org)
