Mary A. (Patti) Gennaro, 93, died comfortably in the care and comfort of her family on November 21, 2022 following a brief period of declining health.
She was born in Lawrence the daughter of the late James Patti and Rosaria (Patti) Patti.
Mary was the beloved wife for 39 years of the late George F. Gennaro who died on June 22, 2004.
She was the devoted and loving mother of Elizabeth A. “Liz” (Gennaro) Winkelman of Cochituate. Cherished grandmother of Zachary J. Winkelman and his wife Kasey of Framingham and Allison K. Winkelman of Framingham. Caring great-grandmother of Ava Marie and Colt James Winkelman. Also survived by her son-in-law John R. Winkelman of Framingham as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Salvatore, Richard and John Patti.
Mary spent her earlier years in Lawrence and has resided in Cochituate for the past 57 years. Before Mary retired, she was a Phlebotomist at Framingham Union Hospital. For many years, she was associated with the Town of Wayland School Department as a Cafeteria Aide at the Loker Elementary School, the Middle School as well as the High School.
Mary loved to do her knitting and was involved with the Ladies Knitting Group at church and volunteered at the Annual Christmas Fair.
She was devoted to her family and her faith and was a daily participant at Mass at Good Shepherd Parish. She will be fondly remembered for always caring about others and the love and devotion she had for her family.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 9:30 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Good Shepherd Parish at ST. ZEPHERIN CHURCH, 99 Main St (Rt 27), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Gennaro family lot in Lakeview Cemetery.
