Devoted father of Virginia Sullivan (Andrew) of Dedham, Marie Abbott of Palm Coast, FL, Francis Costa (Wanda) of Williamsburg, VA, and Stephen Costa (Maria) of Palm Coast, FL. Grandfather of Charles Costa (Megan), Steven Abbott (Chantay), and the late Francis Costa, Jr. Great-grandfather of Dejah and Jasmine Costa. Great great-grandfather of Quincy and Kyrie. Brother of Virginia Doering of Flagstaff, AZ, Salvatore Costa (Theresa) of San Diego, CA, and the late Grace Harris. Son of the late Frank and Ida (Mogavero) Costa. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Charles was a World War II Veteran, U.S. Navy Seabees. He was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Dedham and a volunteer at the West Roxbury Veterans Hospital for more than 29 years.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 9-11am followed by a funeral service in the funeral home beginning at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
