Bruce Douglas Damato, 80, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, died peacefully Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Baylor Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be announced later.
Mr. Damato was born June 23, 1942, in New Haven, Connecticut, to the late John and Eleanor Barletta Damato. He attended Hillhouse High School in New Haven. After high school, he served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a regional sales manager for Lenox/Gorham China and Crystal for 20 years and later developed his own sales company, Damato and Associates. He retired after six years in sales with Havertys Furniture in Jacksonville, Florida. He enjoyed the sales profession and meeting new people. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time at the beach with his wife, Carol.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Napier Damato, of Atlanta, Georgia; his son, Todd Damato (Wyndi) of Fitzgerald, Georgia, and his step-son, Richard Angel (Heidi) of Fort Worth, Texas; his grandchildren: Gracen Damato, Natalie Angel and Emily Angel; his brother, Earl Damato (Dorothy) of Athens, Georgia; his nephew, Kevin Damato (Gala) of Yorktown, Virginia; and niece, Cheryl Locke of Athens, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Douglas Damato, Jr.
