Linda was born in Des Moines Iowa to Richard and Joan Ellis and grew up on the family farm near Dallas Center, Iowa. Linda attended Dallas Center High School and Iowa State University where she majored in Graphic Design and played intercollegiate volleyball. After graduating with her BA in Fine Arts in 1972, Linda worked for 4 years as an in-house Graphic Designer for Bankers Life Insurance Co. in Des Moines.
In 1971 Linda married the love of her life Myles Andrews. They moved to Kennewick, WA in 1976 for Myles’ work. Linda owned and operated her own Graphic Design agency in Kennewick for 16 years. At the same time she also owned half of a computerized typesetting business. For many years she has worked in a variety of fine art forms including watercolor, batik, intaglio & monotype printmaking, serigraphy and photography.
1996 saw Myles and Linda move to Red Mountain to their new home and Linda’s large new studio. Her main focus for the last 30 years has been fused glass and cast bronze.
Linda has shown her glass work extensively since 1992, winning many awards including Best Fused Glass in the national Niche 2000 Awards competition and numerous Bests in Show. She was selected as one of 50 artists worldwide to have work in the Illuminated Show at the 2003 International Glass Art Society Conference in Seattle. Her work is exhibited nationally and resides in public and private collections worldwide
Linda fought a valiant war for many years with cancer, but finally was lost to liver cancer. She was preceded in death by her father Dick. She is survived by her husband Myles and mother Joan (Sedona, AZ), her close cousin Andrea Munger as well as multiple other cousins.
