Harriet M. (Shannon) Flynn, 96, of Worcester died Monday, November 21st in Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, Maine. Her husband of 59 years, James V. Flynn died in 2006. She leaves her children, James Flynn and his wife, Peg of Lincoln, Maine, Mary Rood of Worcester, Christopher Flynn and his wife, Debora of Rutland, and Nancy Boucher and her husband, Michael of Ashburnham; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Thomas and Timothy; her siblings, Paul, Helen, Mary, Jane, Jim and Bob.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Langley) Shannon and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Harriet worked for Iandoli’s Supermarkets and later worked as a telephone operator for the telephone company. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church. Harriet enjoyed crossword puzzles, visiting Hampton Beach but most of all she cherished vacations with her siblings.
Her funeral is Saturday, December 3rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Catholic Church of Our Lady of Providence Parish, 236 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Calling hours are Friday, December 2nd from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
