Joyce M. (Faria) Andrade , 79, of Westport, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital following a brief illness. She had recently lost the love of her life, Fernando G. "Andy" Andrade, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Mrs. Andrade was born in Fall River, daughter of the late John S. and Belmira (Curt) Faria and had resided in Little Compton for most of her life. Prior to retirement, she worked at Charlton Memorial Hospital as a medical technician for nearly 20 years. She was a communicant and choir member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. She enjoyed traveling and shopping and would make new friends everywhere she went. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and her pet dog Sophia.
Survivors include her son: Mark Andrade and his wife Lisa of Tiverton; her daughter: Christine Andrade and her fiancé Dominick Marcelli of Swansea; brother: John "Jack" Faria of Little Compton; and 4 grandchildren: Tyler, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Megan.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, November 26, 2022 from the Potter Funeral Home at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 P.M.
Interment in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Little Compton.
