Joan A. (Tuberosa) Wagstaff of Wellesley formerly of East Boston, died May 25, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 67. Mrs. Wagstaff was born in Revere in 1939 and was the daughter of the late Michael and Lena (Catone) Tuberosa. She attended Boston College and was a member of the graduating class of 1960. She was a Wellesley resident for over 40 years and was a Wellesley School Teacher for many years. Mrs. Wagstaff was also an Artist and was a member of the Wellesley Society of Artists, the Framingham Artist Guild and the Needham Art Assoc.
She was the beloved wife of Retired Fire Chief, Town of Wellesley, David R. Wagstaff. She was the devoted mother of David M. Wagstaff of Swanzey, NH and Matthew S. Wagstaff and his wife Svna Hauksdittir of South Natick. She was the Mother-In-Law of Pauline Wagstaff and grandmother of Helena Reid and Elizabeth Wagstaff.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley, on Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Julia’s Church, Weston Center, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Joan’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115 C/O Oncology Dept.
