Mary K. Clark, 94, of Hampstead, NH died Thursday November 17, 2022 at High Pointe House, Haverhill, MA. Mary was born in Cambridge, MA on May 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Patrick J. and Elizabeth (Coughlin) Murphy. She had resided in Hampstead for more than 75 years, formerly living in Winthrop, MA.
She was in the US Navy with the WAVES during the Korean Conflict. Mary later served the town of Hampstead as the first appointed female police officer for 13 years. She held several clerical positions around the Hampstead community including the Hampstead Pharmacy, Process Engineering in Plaistow, and Gare Ceramics in Haverhill, MA. She also served as a Hampstead Ballot Clerk.
She is survived by three children, Glenn Clark and his wife Kathleen of E. Kingston, NH, Karen Turcotte and her husband Rene of Hampstead, and Kerry Clark and his wife Lori of Hampstead; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth H. Clark in 2011.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2022 from 4 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30am at St. Anne Parish, Emerson Ave., Hampstead. Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead.
