Dinis L. Cidade, 86, of New Bedford died peacefully November 18, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of the late Maria J. (Xavier) Cidade.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, son of the late Francisco F. and Gabriela (Linhares) Cidade, he lived in New Bedford for the last 49 years.
He was formerly employed by Frionor Fish for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Cidade enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include his son, Paul Cidade of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Alda Canha and her husband Craig of Wareham, Ana Falvey and her husband Patrick of Rhode Island and Elizabeth Cidade and her fiancé George Beckford of New Bedford; 6 brothers and sisters, Fatima Rocha, Jose Cidade, Armindo Cidade, Paulo Cidade, John Cidade and Mary Jose Cidade; 4 grandchildren, Shawn Canha and his companion Rachel Raubenhold, Nicole Mutz and her husband Tyler, Zachery Morse and Paige Santos; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Norbinha Vila and Helena Cidade.
His Funeral will be held on Monday, November 21st at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, November 20th from 4-6 PM.
